So yeah, I’m not quite up to being booked for your next party, but I am so loving my newly found hobby of performing magic tricks. And don’t worry, it’s the sleight of hand, illusion type, not that conjuring of evil spirits seeking to talk to long lost Uncle Zeb from 1922. As with most hobbies, it takes a lot of learning and a whole lot of practice. But oh, how it’s worth it when you perform the trick just right and your new fans are left speechless.

Along with the obvious misdirection with the cards themselves, there’s also quite a bit of psychological misdirection as well. Within the storytelling of the trick, my job is to convince the victim, I mean participant, that what they are about to see is totally impossible. When presented effectively, they are left with no doubt that what they just witnessed must be real magic. But here’s the deal, the “Trick” is just a trick. It’s not real magic. Their perception is not reality.

Now when it comes to Jesus, I would consider him to be a master magician. To put it more accurately, maybe I should say he is a master miracle worker. He literally performed miracles on a regular basis; healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, causing the lame to walk again, and so on. There was never a shred of manipulation or deceit in him. In John 14:6 he says of himself, “I am the way and the TRUTH and the life.

Satan, on the other hand, is just the opposite. John 8:44 says that “there is no truth in him.” And that He is a liar and the father of lies. Whereas I perform my magic to trick people into believing something that’s not really happening, it’s all in the name of fun. Satan, however, plays for keeps. His goal is to “steal, kill, and destroy” (John 10:10), and to deceive as many as possible as to his own identity and certainly the identity of Jesus.

Oscar Auliq Ice said, “The devil doesn’t come to you with a red face and horns, he comes to you disguised as everything you’ve ever wanted.” I encourage you to be on the lookout for:  #1- The Miraculous Mitch-ician, performing at an event near you! But more importantly, #2 – Satan, as he prowls around, spreading his lies and looking to deceive us all. And #3, and he is the most important person to be on the lookout for – Jesus! He desperately wants a relationship with you, and to speak truth and life into every aspect of your life!

Be Blessed!
